Bar Assistant and Waitress

¬£7.50 an hour - Part-time

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To undertake responsibility of the successful running of the cocktail bar and lounge service. You will contribute to the organisation; planning and financial success of the department by ensuring every guest interaction delivers exceptional customer service experience. You will be the driving force within the development of new lounge drinks.

MAIN DUTIES:

  • To develop an in-depth understanding and knowledge of wine, cocktails, drinks and lounge menu food items.
  • To clean and prepare the cocktail bar for each service.
  • To work closely with the restaurant and kitchen team to ensure the orders are placed through EPOS and dealt with correctly.
  • To ensure crockery, cutlery and glasses are cleared properly and the lounge spaces are continually in line with hotel standards.
  • To greet and acknowledge all guests on arrival and departure.
  • To provide excellent service in the provision of food and drinks.
  • To ensure the bar is appropriately stocked at all times and requisitions are completed in line with standard operating procedures.
  • To aid in the running of breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner service as required.
  • Use of electronic point of sale, cash handling, cashing up, etc.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Previous bar and/or mixologist experience within a hotel environment.
  • Food and Beverage knowledge with a particular interest in cocktails wine and spirits.
  • Enthusiastic, reliable and able to work under pressure in a busy environment.
  • Must be of smart appearance with excellent personal hygiene standards.
  • You will be a confident communicator with both internal and external customers and will actively relish the opportunity to interact with all guests.
  • You should be flexible and able to work any day of the week, including early mornings and late evenings..
